Danah Duke is the Executive Director of the Miistakis Institute.
Danah is a biologist with a Master's degree in Environmental
Biology and Ecology from the University of Alberta. Her
thesis investigated the impacts of human development on
large carnivore movement in Banff National Park. This research
combined with her Bachelor of Science degree from the University
of McMaster has provided Danah with a comprehensive understanding
of ecosystem and landscape ecology. As Executive Director,
Danah oversees multiple landscape ecology and land use related
projects that focus on integration of spatial (GIS) and
biological information in collaboration with both government
and non-government organizations. Danah enjoys the diversity
of challenges that the work of Miistakis affords and strives
to integrate science, decision making and community needs
to enhance conservation throughout the Crown of the Continent.
