about the program

The Drywood Yarrow Conservation Partnership together with the Miistakis Institute have developed a landowner carnivore monitoring program for SW Alberta. We recognize that carnivore conflicts with the ranching community in SW Alberta are common and there is a need to monitor interactions with carnivores to assist in the development of solutions. The difference with this project is we are counting on you to provide us with the information needed to understand carnivore interactions occurring within the Drywood Yarrow Watershed. The information is owned by the DYCP group and you as a participant.

There are a number of ways you can participate in this project:

  • Submit your carnivore observations and/or interactions with our interactive map, data form or by phone at 403-627-5425.
  • Send us relevant publications to post on the resource page of this website
  • Check back on this website to see when we have developed the guidelines for remote camera or molecular genetic components to the monitoring program.
